Blog post from the San Romero Bus

Yesterday evening we were received at the Newton Friends House in Camden, New Jersey.  The people from the Greater Camden Unity Coalition and the South Jersey Campaign for Peace and Justice were incredibly nice and loving. There were 23 people at the event and each of them received us with smiles.  The hosts took us into their homes for the night and treated us like family.  The event was incredible.  There was a singer-songwriter, Tom Mullian, who performed a beautiful song about a conversation between a father and a son about the Vietnam War.  In this song the son was opposed to fighting in the war but the father insisted that all real men were soldiers.  He sang several other songs and played his guitar.  Fernando and Guiherme are Brazilian clowns that are traveling with the caravan to Texas.  Apart from this they were also jugglers.  Not only could Fernando juggle but he was an awesome magician.  He had so much energy and emphasis, and he even used audience members in his show.  We had a great time and we were glad to be there.  We are so grateful to everyone that has expressed their solidarity with the caravan and the cause.  With love from the 18th Cuba Friendshipment Caravan.
